35 <p>This record is dated in the 4th year of <hi rend="bold">Parakēsarivarman</hi> who took the head of the <hi rend="bold">Pāṇḍya</hi> king. The donor was a woman-servant who was living in a quarter of Tañjāvūr and was connected with queen <hi rend="bold">Uḍaiyapirāṭṭiyār Kiḻāṉaḍigaḷ</hi>, mother of <hi rend="bold">Āṉaimēṟṟuñjiṉār</hi>. This name <hi rend="bold">Āṉaimēṟṟuñjiṉār</hi> has been identified with prince <hi rend="bold">Rājāditya</hi>, one of the brothers of <hi rend="bold">Āditya-Karikāla</hi>'s grandfather <hi rend="bold">Ariñjaya</hi> (<hi rend="italic">Madras Epigraphical Report</hi> for 1912, page 62).</p>

· <p>(Line 1.) Hail ! Prosperity ! In the 4th year (<hi rend="italic">of the reign</hi>) of king <hi rend="bold">Parakēsarivarman</hi> who took the head of the <hi rend="bold">Pāṇḍya</hi> (<hi rend="italic">king</hi>), <hi rend="bold">Dēvayaṉ Puḻalakkaṉ</hi> <hi rend="italic">alias</hi> <hi rend="bold">Avaṉiśikhāmaṇi</hi>, a palace-woman (<hi rend="italic">living</hi>) in (<hi rend="italic">the quarter called) kīḻaivēḷam</hi> of <hi rend="bold">Uḍaiyapirāṭṭiyār Kiḻānaḍigaḷ</hi>, the mother of <hi rend="bold">Āṉaimēṟṟuñjiṉār</hi>, at <hi rend="bold">Tañjāvūr</hi> in <hi rend="bold">Tañjāvūr-kūṟṟam</hi>, gave one lamp-stand for a perpetual lamp to the god <hi rend="bold">Paramēśvara</hi> (<hi rend="italic">Śiva</hi>) of <hi rend="bold">Tirukkīḻkōṭṭam</hi> at <hi rend="bold">Tirukkuḍamūkkil</hi>, a <hi rend="italic">dēvadāna</hi> in <hi rend="bold">Vaḍa garai-Pāmbūr-nāḍu</hi>.</p>

85 <p>(L. 9.) (<hi rend="italic">She also</hi>) gave ninety sheep for burning this perpetual lamp daily as long as the moon and the sun (<hi rend="italic">endure</hi>) with one <hi rend="italic">uḻakku</hi> of ghee. The shepherd <hi rend="bold">Maṉṟaṉ Kuṇamāri</hi> of this village received 45 (<hi rend="italic">out of these ninety</hi>) sheep and receiving (<hi rend="italic">these</hi>) forty-five agreed to measure out three <hi rend="italic">nāḻi</hi> and three <hi rend="italic">uḻākku</hi> of ghee for one month at one <hi rend="italic">āḻākku</hi> every day and the shepherd <hi rend="bold">Ayalañji Maṉṟaṉ</hi> of this village received 45 sheep agreeing to measure out for the sacred lamp three <hi rend="italic">nāḻi</hi> and three <hi rend="italic">āḻākku</hi> of ghee for one month at one <hi rend="italic">āḻākku</hi> every day.
