In the 3rd year and 173rd day of (<hi rend="italic">the reign of</hi>) <hi rend="bold">Pārthivēndrādhipativarman</hi>, who took the head of the <hi rend="bold">Pāṇḍya</hi> (<hi rend="italic">king), (this is</hi>) the writing of us (<hi rend="italic">the members</hi>) of the great assembly of <hi rend="bold">Uttaramēru-chaturvēdimaṅgalam</hi>, (<hi rend="italic">a village</hi>) in its own subdivision in <hi rend="bold">Kāliyūr-kōṭṭam</hi>. (<hi rend="italic">The following are</hi>) the lands given to . . <hi rend="bold">ṇaya-bhaṭṭārigaḷ</hi> of our village for sacred offerings and worship:—</p>

We of the great assembly (<hi rend="italic">also</hi>) gave an agreement that those who deviate from this shall pay a fine of 25 <hi rend="italic">kaḻañju</hi> of gold to the council of justice.
