35 <p>This inscription is dated in the 17th year of <hi rend="bold">Madiraikoṇḍa Rājakēsarivarman</hi> and registers a gift of 96 sheep for a lamp to the Vishṇu temple at <hi rend="bold">Gōvindapāḍi</hi> in <hi rend="bold">Valla-nāḍu</hi>, a subdivision of <hi rend="bold">Dāmar (Dāmal)-kōṭṭam</hi>.</p>

· <p><hi rend="bold">Gōvindavāḍi</hi> and <hi rend="bold">Dāmal</hi> are villages in the Conjeeveram taluk of the Chingleput district. The former is quite close to <hi rend="bold">Tirumālpuram</hi> in the Arkonam taluk of the North Arcot district and is identical with the <hi rend="bold">Gōvindapāḍi</hi> of our inscription.</p>

80 <p>Hail ! Prosperity ! In the 17th year of (<hi rend="italic">the reign of</hi>) king <hi rend="bold">Rājakēsarivarman</hi> who took <hi rend="bold">Madirai</hi> (Madura), <hi rend="bold">Kēśavaṉ Rāmaṉ</hi> <hi rend="italic">alias</hi> <hi rend="bold">Śembiyaṉ Paṉaiyūrnāṭṭu-Vēḷāṉ</hi>, (<hi rend="italic">a native</hi>) of <hi rend="bold">Paṉaiyūr</hi> in <hi rend="bold">Teṉkarai Paṉaiyūr-nāḍu</hi>, (<hi rend="italic">a subdivision</hi>) of <hi rend="bold">Śōḻa-nāḍu</hi> gave ninety-six sheep for burning, as long as the moon and the sun (<hi rend="italic">endure</hi>), one sacred perpetual lamp to the god (<hi rend="italic">perumānaḍigaḷ</hi>) who was pleased to stand at the sacred (temple of) <hi rend="bold">Gōvindapāḍi</hi> in <hi rend="bold">Valla-nāḍu</hi>, (<hi rend="italic">a subdivision</hi>) of <hi rend="bold">Dāmar-kōṭṭam</hi>. (All) Śrī-Vaishṇavas shall protect this (<hi rend="italic">charity</hi>). Do not forget charity !</p>
