35 <p>This inscription is written in archaic characters; it is much obliterated, and incomplete at the end. The date is the twenty-third year of <hi rend="bold">Ko-Vijaya-[Siṁha]vikramavarman</hi>. The inscription records a grant to the <hi rend="bold">Vishṇu</hi> temple at <hi rend="bold">Kāṭṭuttumbūr</hi>, which was probably another name of <hi rend="bold">Śoṛapuram</hi>. The temple had been founded by the same person or persons who made the grant. The object granted was a piece of land at <hi rend="bold">Kanakavalli</hi>, which, like <hi rend="bold">Kāṭṭuttumbūr</hi> itself, belonged to <hi rend="bold">Paṅgaḷa-nāḍu</hi>, a division of <hi rend="bold">Paḍuvūr-koṭṭam</hi>.</p>
