Apart from protecting a brahmadeya,

There is no other means of attaining dharma on this earth;

And, likewise, apart from seizing it,

There is not other means of obtaining sin on this earth.

Other than protecting the property of Brahmins,

There is no source of merit;

Other than infringing it,

There is no source of sin.

Earth has been given by many

Kings such as Sagara and others;

To whom the land is then,

To him the fruit then.
