⟨1⟩ cakaṉ kālam āyirattu nāṉūṟṟ’ e-

⟨2⟩ ṇpatt’ āṟiṟ calati cūḻnta ceka-

⟨3⟩ ṅkāṇa virattākki cittirai-

⟨4⟩ yil irupatān tēti vēntar

⟨5⟩ pukaḻntēval ceya-p-pūṟuva-

⟨6⟩ -titi y-āṟil mutal vāram puṇar-

⟨7⟩ pūcattiṟ cukant-āti-puṉai y-aḻakaṉ

⟨8⟩ cīvala-vēḷ eṉa makuṭañ cūṭiṉāṉē

Translation by Gopinatha Rao [1908] 1988

Aḻakaṉ who revels in perfumes etc., wore the crown in the presence, of all the people under the name of Civalavēḷ, on the first day of the week, the sixth tithi of the first fortnight and the twentieth of the month of Cittirai, in the year Raktākṣin corresponding to the Śaka year one thousand four hundred and eighty-six.
