· <p>Hail! Prosperity! This is the 11th year of king Māṟañcaṭaiyaṉ. From <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tutaṅki</foreign></supplied> the day <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>nāṉṟu</foreign></supplied> when Mēlaikkiṟucci appeared <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tōṉṟiṉa</foreign></supplied> as a <foreign>devadāna</foreign> of the Lord <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tēvar-uṭaiya</foreign></supplied> of Tiruneṭuṅkaḷam, having prepared for cultivation <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>mayakki</foreign></supplied> the saline lands <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>kaḷarun</foreign></supplied> and the elevated lands <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tiṭalum</foreign></supplied>, which were unproductive <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>viḷaintu aṟiyāta</foreign></supplied>, we of the village assembly <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>kaṇattārōm</foreign></supplied> of Tiruneṭuṅkaḷam; having named it <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>pēriṭṭu</foreign></supplied> Kōtukulavar <foreign>kāṇi</foreign>, I, Kāmaneṟimaiṉāṉ, have endowed <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>vaittēṉ</foreign></supplied>, having prepared the land for cultivation <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>mayakki</foreign></supplied> so that the small farmers <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>ciṟu-kuṭi</foreign></supplied> dispatch <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>celuttuvatu āka</foreign></supplied> to the <foreign>cattiram</foreign> without fail <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>muṭṭāmai</foreign></supplied> 3 <foreign>nāḻi</foreign>s of husked-rice <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>kuttal-arici</foreign></supplied> everyday <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>nāḷ vāy</foreign></supplied>, even if those who plough <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>uḻuvār</foreign></supplied> this <foreign>devadāna</foreign> do <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>cellilum</foreign>, that is, <foreign>ceyilum</foreign></supplied> or do not <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>ceyyāviṭilum</foreign></supplied> the produce <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>pōkam</foreign></supplied> of this land <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>iccey</foreign></supplied> <supplied reason="subaudible">i.e. cultivate</supplied>. May the feet of he who protects this be on my head!</p></div>
