Commentary
See Laksminarayan Rao 1955 (p. 56): “A record of the 8th year of the reign of Aparājita (No. 174 of 1943-44) was found in the Tirunāgeśvara temple in Kaḷāmpākkam village. The inscription registers a provision made by the ūravar of the village for the performance of worship in the local temple on the days of the full moon and the new moon (uvā). Adjacent to this inscription, on the same wall, is a record (No. 173 of 1943-44) incised in similar characters and dated in the year 16 without mentioning the king. It registers a donation made to the temple by a private individual for conducting a festival. It is not unlikely that this inscription also belongs to the reign of Aparājita.”
