(1–6) Vāṇaṉ, the son of the general Kōṭaṉ Mēṭṭiṇaṉ, fell [when] he came to besiege (kai koṇṭu1) Maṇikkal in Vēṇāṭu, alias Iḷaṅkuṉṟi in Vēṇāṭu.

(6) [This is] the stone that Akkaḵimallāṉ has had planted.
