(1–3) Tirthy-third [year] of the victorious king Mayēntiraparumaṉ.1

(3–13) [This is the stone of] , the honourable son [of] Putaṇaṭi [and] the servant [of] the honourable Kantaviṇṇaṉ2, he who fell (nallaṉāy tirintu), when the honourable Kanta(vi)ṇṇaṉ, the son [of] Iṇṇapantar attacked (eṟinta) marching (ceṉṟa) upon (mēl) Vēlaṭṭu(ṇ) against (mēl) the honourable Poṉṉarampaṉ, the son [of] poṇaimaṇaiṉṉār, [one] among the nephews [of] the royal Bāṇa king.
