Translation

⟨1–3⟩ Tirthy-third year of the victorious king Mayēntiraparumaṉ.1

⟨3–13⟩ This is the stone of , the honourable son of Putaṇaṭi and the servant of the honourable Kantaviṇṇaṉ2, he who fell (nallaṉāy tirintu), when the honourable Kanta(vi)ṇṇaṉ, the son of Iṇṇapantar attacked (eṟinta) marching (ceṉṟa) upon (mēl) Vēlaṭṭu() against (mēl) the honourable Poṉṉarampaṉ, the son of poṇaimaṇaiṉṉār, one among the nephews of the royal Bāṇa king.
