Translation by Emmanuel Francis

(1) Prosperity! Fortune!

(1) Fifteenth year of the victorious king Kampavarmaṉ.1

(1–2) Writ/Writing of me Aparājita, whereas I, servant (aṭiyēṉ) of Perumāṇaṭikaḷ of […] the glorious (tiru) […] in the Īkkāṭṭukkōṭṭam in the Toḻūrnāṭu.

(2–3) I have given one thousand kaḻañcus of gold […] for the Vajramegha tank in Uttaramēruccaturvedimaṅgala in the Kāliyūrkkōṭṭam.

(3–5) With these one thousand kaḻañcus of gold, each and every year, as long as earth and sun last […] ¿two? hundred kaḻañcus of gold, for this Vajramegha tank, starting in the month of Āṉi, so that three lunar months are included, […] having given (iṭṭu) these two hundred kaḻañcus of gold […] I, Aparājita.

(5) We, the members of the assembly, so that these two hundreds kaḻañcus of gold be, in this wise, for this very tank, a pious donation (dharma) by him (ivaṉukkē2), the silt (kuḻi kutti), each and every year, we will have it removed (Āṭṭuvi[ppōm āṉōm])

(6) […] Even if we give (aṭṭōmāyilum), he who obstructs (vilakkināṉum) [this] without giving (aṭṭāmai), he will become (āṉāṉ) permanently (nicati) one who attains (eytuvāṉ) the crime (pātakam) of killing (koṉṟa) like one thousand tawny cows (āyiraṅ kurāl-āka).

(6–7) He who harms this pious donation […] he attains the entire sin done by those who do murder of [one among] the “Seven Hundreds” between the Ganges and Kumari.

(7) Of him who protects this pious donation, the feet are on my head.

(7–8) Writings of […]ṭi.
