Les <foreign>bhikkhu</foreign> Jotither, Candaraṅsī se sont chargés de la gravure du texte. Les "maîtres" Nath, Maen, Sam, Kim, Ok, Om, ont apporté leur concours pour la correction du <foreign>pāli</foreign>.

An 2459 de l'ère bouddhique, celui du Dragon, le jeudi 14è jour de la lune décroissante de Kattik.

Le donateur nommé Yūv se montra désireux de s'informer au sujet du kaṭhin que son confrère Pu<gap reason="lost"/> ofrrait aux <foreign>bhikkhu gāmāvāsik</foreign>: "Est-il permis ou non de célébrer le <foreign>kaṭhinatthāra</foreign> à cet endroit ?"

Il vint alors s'enquérir chez moi, nommé Brahmapaññā. Je me mis à consulter le Mahāvagga du Pālī, puis les <foreign>ṭikā</foreign>, les <foreign>aṭṭhakathā</foreign> et les <foreign>gaṇṭhī</foreign>: les textes ne révélaient aucun obstacle à cet acte.

De plus, je décidai de consulter également les savants Vénérables du Monastère d'Uṇṇālom, dont les noms figurent sur la liste hiérachique. Ces Vénérables confirmèrent mon opinion car, dirent-ils, "les <foreign>bhikkhu</foreign> qui résident dans le village <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>gāmāvās</foreign></supplied>, ces bhkkhu-là sont 'résidents de la paroisse' <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>gāmasīmā</foreign></supplied>; et ceux-là <gap reason="lost"/> sont autorisés à accomplir les divers devoirs du <foreign>saṅgha</foreign>".

En outre, ces fidèles ont aussi invité des religieux à réciter le saint Vinaya dans ce monastère d'Ambabrịks, en particulier le passage concernant le domaine de la célébration du <foreign>kaṭhin</foreign>: cela fut accompli en trois jours entiers.

Deux mille quatre cent soixante ans <supplied reason="subaudible">se sont écoulés</supplied> depuis le moment de la Grande Extinction du Bienheureux. <supplied reason="subaudible">Nous sommes</supplied> au 10è jour de la lune décroissante de Jesṭh, année du Serpent, 9è du cycle décimal.

Sous le règne du roi Sisowath, souverain du royaume de Kambujā, l'<foreign>upāsak</foreign> nommé Jhim, rempli d'une foi absolue, en compagnie de son épouse nommée Deb, assisté par le bhikkhu nommé Brahmapaññā,

après avoir rassemblé des upāsak de divers villages au nombre de trois cent quatre-vingt-onze,

après avoir fait venir de la cité de Rangun, du pays de Birmanie, des ouvrages religieux au nombre de quatre-vingt-quatre, valant quatre cent quarante-sept (?),

après les avoir installés dans ce Monastère des Manguiers,

après avoir commencé une grande cérémonie cette année,

après avoir invité trois Prédicateurs du Dhamma résidant au Monastère d'Uṇṇālom, à savoir le <foreign>thera</foreign> Dhammkavivaṅs, le <foreign>bhikkhu</foreign> Saṁsatthā et le <foreign>bhikkhu</foreign> Saṁvijjā,

il fit réciter par quatre-vingt-sept moines, durant trente jours, les passages des Vinayakhandhaka - tels que le Pabbajākhandhaka, l'Uposathakhandhaka, le Vassūpanāyikakkhandhaka, le Pavāraṇākhandhaka et le Sīmāvinicchayakkhandhaka - en conformité avec les stances des gaṇṭhī, des ṭīkā et des aṭṭhakathā, et du Pālī.

Le groupe de <foreign>bhikkhu</foreign> réunis à cet endroit, où s'accomplir l'exposition du Vinaya, manifesta son appréciation à l'unisson.

Tant que demeureront vivaces le Buddha <supplied reason="subaudible">et</supplied> le Vinaya, ces livres auront longue vie; et tant que ceux-ci demeureront, l'enseignement du Buddha subsistera.

Par cet acte de mérite, que la condition du nibbāna soit! Que le bonheur soit, à l'avenir, et durant toutes les existences successives!
