Part 1

(1–6) 1019 śaka, quatrième jour de la lune décroisante de Caitra, vendredi, le khloñ vala nommé Aruṇa ayant érigé V. K. J. Nārāyaṇa, a donné une terre au sud et au sud-est du dieu, avec la pièce d’eau Travāṅ Chpū et une rizière à khloñ vala qnak Ciḥ (?) qui ordonne .[…] le sacrificateur de concert avec le V. K. A. qui est le guru professeur […] qui est le guru fondateur, ainsi que les membres de la Cour.

(7–10) Les gens qui détériorent ce mien dharma, que tout le mauvais sort des gens qui offensent leur guru, qui offensent Śiva, qui offensent le roi, soit le leur.

(10–13) Ce dieu que j’ai érigé, je l’offre à teṅ tvan qSo qui est ma parente et à loñ Joṅ qui est l’enfant de moi qui suis appelé steṅ Aruṇa.

Commentary

George Cœdès notes, regarding the character inscribed in the sign of Aries in the zodiac diagram, that it should represent the moon but that it “certainly includes the vowel e placed to its left, and its body resembles that of ma. Now me does not correspond to any of the names of the moon. But as the position of the moon in Aries is confirmed for this date by the inscription engraved on the southern jamb of the central sanctuary at Prasat Kravan, it is almost certain that the indistinct character corresponds to one of the names of this planet, probably so(ma)” (1952, pp. 172–173).
