(1) Prosperity! Fortune!

(1) 17th year of the king Vikrama Cōḻa.

(1–6) For the expenses (aḻivukku) necessary (vēṇṭum) for ..., that is, ... so that it is bound to go (cella-k kaṭavat’ āka) as long as the moon and the sun ...

(6–7) Whereas, to [the village of] Cōlakēraḷanallūr, which is given, after buying it from these two persons, [the boundaries] are (āka) [as follows]:

  • the eastern boundary is west to ...;
  • the southern boundary is north to ...;
  • the western boundary [is east to] […];
whereas there are tanks, wet-land ands dry-lands comprised within the great boundaries [so] described (icaitta), having bought that much in the glorious name of this God, this pious donation (it-ta¡n!⟨ṉ⟩mam) ...
