Commentary

Lines 1-6 of the inscription continues in fact on a block of the western base of the maṇḍapa, in continuation of the inscribed blocks of the northern base of the maṇḍapa. The end of lines 1-3 are too much worn-out to be deciphered. The lacuna placed by Krishna Sastri 1923 at the beginning of lines 2-4 is in fact partly at the end of lines 1-3. The end of lines 4-6 are still almost entirely legible. The inscription stops abruptly at the end of line 12, in the middle of a word. It is not clear if the end was ever inscribed or was engraved in continuation on the western base.
